The NBA/NFL Lockout...What Am I Going To Watch Now???

I was seriously considering a sports package this upcoming season.  Well now...F*CK THAT!!!!!


I find it hard to believe that two of the biggest leagues in sports may not have a 2011-2012 season.  Both were coming off of good seasons that saw huge ratings, tons of jerseys sold, players and the leagues walking away with tons of cash.  They go from all time highs to all time lows in a matter of months.  All because both the players and the owners want more money.  The fact that they are having such an ugly, public feud during a global economic downturn were you see families making the most out of an income that is a fraction of what they generate is a f*cking shame.

Sports is something that the U.S. and other countries enjoy to watch and read about.  Competition, following your favorite teams, fantasy drafts and anticipating the next Madden or 2K sports title is what its all about for most people.  Not grown a$$ millionaires crying about having a family to feed (Wassup Latrell Sprewell! How those rims treating you?)

If there isn't going to be a NBA or NFL season this year than what are we suppose to watch?

The NHL????  I was a fan of the hockey video games when I was a kid.  It's actually a cool sport but I can't watch it.  Like soccer, the action is sporadic.  I'm not bias, but racial majority when compared to basketball and football is reversed.  I still haven't seen a person of color put on some skates.  Whether they are from the U.S. or abroad, the chances of us colored folks watching or playing the sport heavily is not going to happen.  I think we would rather watch Nascar than hockey.

Mixed Martial Arts???  Now that's interesting.  I use to be heavy into boxing before the corruption and lack of good fighters destroyed the sport.  Mixed martial arts seems to have something for everyone.  I haven't watched too much of it as of late but I can say the action does get my blood boiling.  A lot of these guys you can tell just love to beat the sh*t out of people.

Lingerie Football League???  Now there's an idea.  Sh******t I might have to see about that.  There's nothing else to say about this.  Now if the WNBA (They actually got some decent eye candy) had their athletes wear skimpy sh*t maybe their ratings would be higher.  I know some of those girls are rocking curves and some bouncy body parts.  If the league went the route of the Lingerie Football League maybe they could pay their players the kind of money their NBA counterparts were use to making before the lockout.






All I can say is that I hope things can get worked out before both seasons are scheduled to start.  According to Yahoo! Sports, my New York Knicks have the most games on television this season (Sorry Lakers and Heat fans *BuddhaShrug*).  I hate to see both leagues' seasons lost.  Especially the NBA because some of these players are looking to go overseas.  Overseas basketball may not pay them as much as the NBA, but its still money.  Then the competition isn't that tough at all.  Most of these teams in Europe and Asia are predominantly offensive minded and fundamental.  Players like Kobe, LeBron and Wade would easily dominate the opposition.  They'll play...its just that I and a lot of people won't be able to see them.  Let's all hope the players and owners can reach an agreement...ASAP!!!!!
