MURS to me is one of the most slept on cats in the game. Lyrically he can hold his own. He is good example of West Coast talent. And he dated/f*cked porn star Roxy Reynolds. 9th did his thing on this beat. When these two come together they make one of the baddest MC/Producer combo you'll ever hear. Don't believe me check out their collabo albums "Murs 3:16 The 9th Edition," "Murray's Revenge" and "Sweet Lord." Nothing but MURS rhymes over 9th's production.
I wonder if 9th let Jiggaman hear this beat when he was making "The Black Album"? This beat destroys the original easily. 9th's remix album "Black Is Back" is a good listen.
When I first heard the group Little Brother it was the first time I heard 9th's production. I thought I was listening to some dope 90s East Coast sh*t. I was kind of shocked when I heard these guys are from North Carolina. With Phonte and Big Pooh spitting and 9th working his magic with the beats, this group made three albums that were pretty d*mn good. I'm still pissed at BET for not playing their "Lovin' It" video because it was "too intelligent" or some sh*t. I hope one day these guys will make a reunion album.
I f*cks with Eminem the rapper. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT...he's kinda hit or miss when he's in producer mode. Nas' song "The Cross" from his "God's Son" album is one of many examples of Nas having a bad ear for beats. Someone should really handle that for him. Don't believe me...listen to his album "Nastradamus" and then listen to MF Doom's remixed version "Nastradoomus" and get back at me. 9th Wonder remixed the whole God's Son album as well and this song was one of many gems.
Buckshot is another rapper who has made a couple of albums (Chemistry and The Formula are the names) where 9th handled the beats. This is a nice joint right here.
